Gotta Have My "Peeta" Bread!

My friends and I love a theme party! We take it seriously from the dress, food, decor, and games. For this party, we hosted a Hunger Games (by Suzanne Collins) dinner party. Featured is a mix of the ruggedness of the districts with the elegance of the Capitol. Can you spot the symbols?!

Invitation: A movie ticket evite with a message from the Capitol.

By order of the Capitol,
You have been chosen to pay tribute to the 2012 Hunger Games by participating in sanctioned frivolity and delighting in the rich culinary delicacies generously provided by your districts. Following dinner, an exclusive viewing of Katniss Everdeen's games will take place.

Regally,

Your President
The Hostesses:

And yes, our bows are wire clothes hangers!

Decorations:
Here's the official welcome banner!

Spools of red, orange, and navy tulle were wrapped around the chandelier as if it were Catching Fire (by Suzanne Collins).

Parachutes filled with bread, medicine, and friut lined the room as a nod to the sponsors.

Materials: 12 balloons, string, 3 baskets, and fillings. We used the water viles from the  roses as penicillin.

We mixed golds, blacks, and red with burlap and greens to represent both the districts and the capitol. Also there are white roses and blood red petals as a nod to "Snow."

Food: Lamb kebobs, fruit and nut rice, humus and "Peeta" chips/bread, and a plum tart
